Sabbath Services

Our main worship services are on Friday at 7:30 pm and Saturday at 2:30 pm, because we keep the Sabbath, the seventh day of the week.

The Sabbath begins at sunset on Friday and ends at sunset on Saturday. We gather twice in that time: a Friday evening service to welcome the Sabbath, and a Saturday afternoon service as the main worship of the week.

A service lasts about one hour and forty-five minutes. We begin with hymns, then pray together. During prayer, members kneel and pray aloud at the same time, and many pray in tongues. If this is new to you, you are welcome to sit or kneel quietly. A sermon from the Bible follows, and we close with a hymn and prayer.

Sermons are given in Mandarin or English depending on the speaker, and are always interpreted into the other language, so you can follow along either way.

Children have their own classes during the Saturday afternoon service. After service, people stay to talk, and on Saturdays we often share a simple meal together.

Common questions

Can I come if I am not a Christian?

Yes. Anyone is welcome to attend our services. You do not need to know anyone or tell us in advance, though you are welcome to email us first.

Which service is best for a first visit?

Saturday at 2:30 pm. It is our main service, children's classes run at the same time, and there is time to talk afterwards.
