A small church with a long story
True Jesus Church Bandar Mahkota Cheras began in 2000 as a small group in Sungai Long. Today about 80 members worship here: Malaysian Chinese, Malaysian Indian and Myanmar believers, many of them students and young families.
Our story
1917
True Jesus Church begins
The church is established in Beijing, China, and later spreads across Asia and the world.
2000
A group in Sungai Long
Members of the Cheras church living in Bandar Sungai Long start meeting in a rented shophouse. The first service is held on 3 October 2000.
2015
Our own home in BMC
As families move into neighbouring Bandar Mahkota Cheras, the church buys a two-storey shophouse. Services begin there in December 2015.
2016
A church of its own
BMC joins the West Malaysia General Assembly of the True Jesus Church.
2017
Dedicated to God
The church is dedicated to the Lord on 6 August 2017.
Who we are today
We are a young church. Because we are close to UTAR Sungai Long, many students have come to worship with us. Some stayed after graduating, and now serve, work and raise their families here.
We are also a mixed family. Malaysian Chinese, Malaysian Indian and Myanmar believers worship together, which is why our services are interpreted between Mandarin and English.
Part of a worldwide church
True Jesus Church was established in 1917 in Beijing. It is an independent Christian church, not part of any other denomination, and today has congregations in many countries. Every congregation keeps the same 10 Basic Beliefs.
